本書は、「モノ」「出来事」「場所」「人物」という4つのテーマと、150点におよぶ貴重な歴史写真を通して、読者を台湾ポップスのさまざまな現場へと誘い、その100年を超える歩みをたどります。1年以上にわたる資料調査とオーラルヒストリー・インタビューをもとに、4つのテーマごとに6編、計24編のエッセイを収録。軽やかな語り口で、日本統治時代から21世紀にいたる台湾ポップスの歩みを描き出します。
Organized around four core themes—Objects, Events, Landmarks, and People—and illustrated with 150 rare historical photographs, this book takes readers on a journey through time into the many worlds of Taiwanese pop music. Drawing on more than a year of archival research and oral history interviews, it presents 24 essays—six under each of the four themes—that trace the history of Taiwanese pop music from the Japanese colonial era to the 21st century through engaging storytelling.
